This morning I was reading the newspaper and read an article describing a car accident, were both occupants died. One of the cars was a taxi with a passenger, which was hit by another car, dying instantly the taxi driver and his passenger.
Just imagine for a moment the last seconds of these persons; the taxi driver concentrated in the traffic and what's going around and the passenger just watching the people in the street and his thoughts Heaven knows where, and all of a sudden both are standing in front of The Throne of Glory.
This incident, shows how fragile our lives are and that we simply don't know when Hashem will conclude our existence in this world and in which way.
We are not given the opportunity to choose when and how we will die, which means we have to live in Sanctity as if today was our last day here.
So therefore, we should be conscious about this fact and have our affairs in order with Hashem; which means having asked forgiveness for our misdoings. Which takes us to another point, our need for praying everyday, we should pray three times a day and even a fourth prayer before retiring to sleep.
I don't think that none of us would like all of a sudden, have to stand in front of The King of The Universe, having to acknowledge the fact that we have lived in sin and separated from Him.
Another thing that comes to me at this moment, is that I would not like to die without saying the "SHEMA".
Blessings!
