A Prayer for Our Captive Soldiers

Our G-d, the One who raised Joseph up from the pit, be "a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble" (Psalm 9:10). Send complete rescue and full redemption to those held captive by the enemy:

  • Gilead Shalit
  • Ehud Goldwasser
  • Eldad Regev
  • (Kindly add other names)

Strengthen their spirit and bring them our prayers that they be protected from all harm. Implant understanding in the heart of the enemy that they may return the captives in wholeness of body and spirit. Grant wisdom to the Israel Defense Forces that they may secure freedom for the captives without loss of life. Grant strength of spirit and courage of heart to all the sons and daughters of Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar to release bonds of captivity and allow us all to live in freedom.

"They shall call upon Me, and I will answer them; I will be with them in distress; I will rescue them, and honor them." (after Psalm 91:15)

Hearken Klal Israel!

Posted by Aryeh ben Avraham | Labels: , , , , , | Posted On Sunday, 23 September 2007 at 19:18

PSALM 81: 9. Hearken, My people, and I shall admonish you, Israel, if you hearken to Me. 10. No strange god shall be within you, neither shall you prostrate yourself to a foreign god. 11. I am the Lord, your G_d, Who brought you up from the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I shall fill it. 12. But My people did not hearken to My voice, neither did Israel desire to [follow] Me. 13. So I let them go after their heart's fantasies; let them go in their counsels. 14. If only My people would hearken to Me, if Israel would go in My ways. 15. In a short time I would subdue their enemies and upon their enemies I would return My hand. 16. The enemies of the Lord would lie to Him, and their time would be forever. 17. Then He would feed them with the fat of wheat and I would sate you with honey from a rock. Just a few words for us to ponder on regarding the above Psalm.
YOM KIPPUR has just passed. These coming days let's not revert being our old selves and really start making a change this year. Let's do the effort and get up earlier, in order to recite the Morning Prayers (Shajarit), also we should try to take some minutes before lunch, time to Daven (Minja) and at night when we get home, instead of sitting in front of the box, eating sandwiches, let's seclude ourselves and pray (Maariv) the night prayers. Let's go out of our ways to do Mitzvot. I know I'm probably making some of us uncomfortable, but please bear with me and be patient. I know that it's very difficult to break habits acquired during years but don't ever forget your holy inheritance and the fact that your soul is holy and according to Rabbi Nachman, Jews are Tzaddikim, therefore it's not really difficult for us. Let's try our very best and be ba’al/ba'at teshuvah, there is a maximal, “exemplary” form of teshuvah,” concerned with the correction or even perfection of the individual’s personality, the removal or reversal of the “stain” left on the person’s character by sin. The true concern of the process of teshuvah is character building, the constant growth and perfection of personality, what the classical Musar writers (Hebrew ethicists) refer to as tikkun hamiddot (“correction of the [character] traits”), which is ultimately a life long project. It is in regard to this latter standard that Rambam articulates the concept of Teshuvah Gemurah—the quest for true, total, full repentance. Let's start changing in order to cling to Hashem and receive all the Blessings He has for us.

Start Considering Aliyah NOW!

Posted by Aryeh ben Avraham | Labels: , , , , | Posted On Thursday, 20 September 2007 at 19:38

Now that things are going to get rougher with the Palestinians and Iran threatening Eretz Israel for any action we take against the Palestinians, I think it's worthy that you read the following:

A Warning To The American-Jewish Community

This Article in PDF, is to warn the Jews and to call upon them to move to Israel; for those who will not (move to Israel) will be harmed. This will happen due to anti-Semitism that will in a short time spread throughout the United States and I would as well say in Europe, as we can see by what's cooking with the UK.

Please, also click on the image to see something that you probably will not want to believe.

Aliyah is a Mitzva and even if you don't believe it, there is no place safer than Eretz Israel for a Jew lo live.

IT'S TIME FOR ALIYAH!

Take Notice!

Posted by Aryeh ben Avraham | Labels: , , , , | Posted On at 16:49

Yesterday night I read that the Chief Negotiator Favours Division of Jerusalem, Including the Old City. In a letter to a fellow Kadima politician, the lead negotiator on behalf of the government in talks with the Fatah-run, half of the Palestinian Authority confirmed his plan to relinquish sovereignty over much of Jerusalem, including in the Old City. Regarding the "holy sites" in the capital, Chief Negotiator wrote only that there would be an undefined "special sovereignty." Inside the Old City, the Western Wall and the Jewish Quarter "will remain under Israeli rule forever". This made me ponder on the following, which is my personal reasoning on this issue. - If Israel would have had more Emuna during the 6 Day War, seeing how Hashem had won the war for us, the moment we took control of The Holy City, Jerusalem, we should have proceeded immediately to destroy the dome built on top of the Holy Temple by the Arabs, as this dome, is Hillul Hashem. Also proceeded to eradicate all foreign entities surrounding the Holy Temple. - Unfortunately Klal Israel was and is governed by non Torah leaders and as such lack Emuna and are strongly influenced by the leaders of USA, UK and other European Countries who are thinking on their own interests and not on those of Israel. - Also due to our misdoings (Lashon Hora, sexual impurity, assimilation, intermarriage and other transgressions) Hashem is allowing all this, to let us know that we have turned our back on Him. - If things have not yet come to worst, it's only in merit to the prayers of the few tzadikim that are left in Israel, who pray to Hashem invoking His attribute of Mercy, that the harsh decrees be mitigated. It all depends on Klal Israel, that is, US ALL, to stop this by returning to Hashem, His Torah and Mitzvots. You will probably say that's fine for the Rabbi's and the religious, but I say NO, you can live like a real Jew by studying Torah, doing Mitzvots, studying the Shulkhan Arukh, praying and going on with your normal daily lives. If we want things to change in Eretz Israel, let's start by changing ourselves in cleaning our souls from all the assimilation garbage we have imported, treating our fellowmen with respect and dignity, guarding the Brit, wearing Tzitzitz, covering our heads showing that we accept our submission to Hashem, placing Mezuzot on our door posts, giving Tzedakah and many other Mitzvot that we can fulfill. Let's take these days of Teshuvah, to really turn our hearts to Hashem and make the decision that this year we are going to rectify all those aspects of our soul that need to be changed, that we are going to work on our "I" in order to clean all those layers which do not allow us see His Light. If we need help, let's plead to Hashem of our weakness, and He will aid us in our return to Him.

Let's not Forget Them!

Their names are:

  • Farzad ben Aseret, 30
  • Faramaz ben Aseret, 34
  • Ehres ben Zulkhah, 40
  • Nejat ben Niseret, 35 - religious leader
  • Daniel ben Surija, 28
  • Omid ben Surija, 25
  • Ramin Nemati (mother not listed), 22
  • Asher ben Sultanit, 48
  • Natzar ben Fern, 45 - community leader
  • Yaakov ben Muhatrim, 16
  • Farhod ben Hemdem, 30
  • Sharokh ben Sehnez, 29 - religious leader
  • Ramin Fahr Zam (mother not listed), 35

As we go about our ordinary lives, these poor, unfortunate Jews face an uncertain future at the hands of a government and judiciary that is unfavourably disposed towards them.

BROTHERS and SISTERS! HAVE PITY ON THEM! Please pray for them till our Father in Heaven sees fit to have them released.

Despite claims by the Iranian foreign ministry that prisoners would receive a fair trial, we know that their fate is still undecided.

Your every prayer tilts the balance in their favour. Until they are freed they languish in jail, in miserable conditions, their health deteriorating.
PLEASE! Start offering prayers on their behalf NOW! Ask your friends to join us in the effort.

Despite official statements of denial by the governments of Israel and the United States, Iranian officials insist the 10, local Rabbis and teachers, have spied against Iran for the US and the "Zionist enemy".

Jewish leaders worldwide continue to express fears that the 10 will be sentenced to death.

The Duty of Aliyah to Eretz Israel

THE DUTY OF ALIYAH TO ERETZ ISRAEL
By Yishai Fleisher

The following booklet was published in 1977. Yishai Fleisher has taken the time to OCR-scan it, and then paste the whole book into the Kumah blog. Yishai has had privilege to act as a techno-scribe, with the help of Hillel Fendel in whose archives it was found, to bring this important book to you.

May it serve to awaken an "Exodus - movement of all our brethren around the world!"

Kindly click on the following Link "THE DUTY OF ALIYAH TO ERETZ ISRAEL" in order to read the Booklet.

A few words about Kuma blog:

About Kumah and Neo-Zionism

KUMAH, which is Hebrew for ARISE, is a movement passionate about Aliyah (ascent). There are different Aliyahs for different people: for Jews of the Exile, Aliyah means heeding God's call for mass immigration to Israel, the Jewish people's homeland. Aliyah for Jews who have already come home to Israel means elevating the spirit of the Jewish nation and rectifying the vessel that is the State of Israel with an eye toward redemption.

Aliyah for the peoples of the world means a spiritual renaissance with Jerusalem at its center. We call this movement Neo-Zionism, a Biblical dream being realized today. Through an array of projects, Kumah seeks to invigorate the world with positivity and a sense of connectedness based on authentic Jewish values. We at Kumah believe in taking an active role in shaping and hastening the destiny of Israel!

The War Between Jews and Jews

Posted by Aryeh ben Avraham | | Posted On Monday, 17 September 2007 at 22:35

"The War Between Jews and Jews"

by Prof. Paul Eidelberg Published: 08/25/07
The Babylonian Talmud (Pesachim 49b) states that Jewish ignoramuses are greater anti-Semites than gentiles. The Zohar (Exodus 7b) declares that in the “end of days,” certain wicked Jews will become the allies of Israel’s enemies.
Such Jews have become Israel’s ruling elites. Although they comprise a small (ultra-secular) minority, they control the major levers of power in this country. And they do so while intoning the mantra of “democracy.”
It was precisely such Jews that foisted the Oslo or Israel-PLO Agreement on Israel. The same kind of Jews enacted and implemented the policy of “unilateral disengagement”—a euphemism for treason. Lest I be accused of “extremism,” let us recall some facts, beginning with Yossi Beilin, Shimon Peres’s erstwhile “poodle.”
Backed by Peres, once known as the nation’s “saboteur,” Beilin initiated secret negotiations (then illegal according to Israeli law) in 1992 which led to the Oslo or Israel-PLO Agreement of September 13, 1993.
Fast forward to December 1, 2003. Even though he was no longer a member of the Knesset, Beilin, together with such prominent Israeli officials as former Labor chairman Avram Mitzna and former Knesset speaker Avraham Burg, signed the Geneva Accord with Yassar Abed Rabbo, a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Executive Committee. (In the U.S., Beilin and his Labor colleagues would have been incarcerated for violating the Logan Act, which prohibits non-government officials from negotiating with foreign powers. They might even have been indicted for treason for violating Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution.)
The Geneva Accord is a non-governmental proposal ostensible intended to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Accord gives the “Palestinians” almost all of Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, drawing Israel’s borders close to what existed before the Six-Day War of June 1967. In return for removing most of the Israeli settlements in these areas and giving Palestinians control of the Old City of Jerusalem including the Temple Mount, the Arabs would limit their so-called right of return to Israel to a number specified by Israel’s government.
The present writer doesn’t know when the Beilin/Mitzna/Burg/Rabbo negotiations were initiated. Perhaps it was before Israel’s January 2003 election, since Labor leader Mitzna campaigned on a policy of “unilateral disengagement” from Gaza. Also, it may not have been a coincidence that in was in December, when the Geneva Accord was publicized, that Likud Prime Minister Ariel Sharon publicly adopted Labor’s policy of “unilateral disengagement” as the centerpiece of his Government.
Be this as it may, those surrendering Jewish land, or intending to surrender Jewish land, to Israel’s enemies are prima facie guilty of committing acts defined as treason by Israel’s Penal Law, specifically:
  1. acts which “impair the sovereignty” of the State of Israel—section 97(a);
  2. acts which “impair the integrity” of the State of Israel—section 97(b);
  3. acts under section 99 which give assistance to an “enemy” in war against Israel, which the Law specifically states includes a terrorist organization;
  4. acts under section 100 which evince an intention or resolve to commit one of the acts prohibited by sections 97 and 99.
Eminent Israelis signed scholarly petitions to the Supreme Court challenging the legality of the Government’s withdrawal from Jewish land. The court nonetheless dismissed the petitions as involving “political” as opposed to “justiciable” issues. Strange, since Aharon Barak, then court’s president, had decreed, even before Oslo, that “everything is justiciable.
Unbeknownst to the public, that decree (or dictum) made the Supreme Court the supreme law-giver and virtual master of Israel. Indeed, that decree heralded not only a judicial coup d’état, but also the subtle judicial management of a one-sided civil war—a war waged by the Left against Jews who want to preserve Israel as a Jewish commonwealth and the Land of Israel as the eternal birthright of the Jewish people.
This war became rather obvious when the Sharon Government, sanctified by Barak’s ruling that Gaza (as well as Judea and Samaria) is “belligerent occupied territory, expelled 8,000 Jews from Gush Katif and turned over this Jewish land to Israel’s implacable enemies.
At stake in this civil war is nothing less than the soul or identity of the Jewish people. This war, to reiterate, is being waged by Jewish anti-Semites against Jews who more or less identify with the Jewish heritage. Refer again to the passages of the Talmud and Zohar cited at the outset of this article.
What complicates this civil war is that these Jewish anti-Semites, having control Israel’s Government and the national treasury, have enticed unwary and half-hearted Jews—religious and non-religious—to collaborate with them in the war against Judaism.
Unknown to the world, the war now going on between Jews and Jews in Israel is the basic reason why Israel’s Government did not, and has not, declared war against the Palestinian Authority, whether led by Fatah or Hamas.
Moreover, and unknown to the world, it is precisely this war between Jews and Jews that has made Israel subservient to Washington.
Indeed, if the Jews of this country were united and armed by the wisdom and power of the Torah, they could and would be invincible as well as the greatest blessing to mankind!

The Land of Eretz Yisrael

Posted by Aryeh ben Avraham | | Posted On Sunday, 16 September 2007 at 14:07

Our Sages teach that every Jew possesses a portion of Eretz Yisrael, the Land of Israel. The converse is also true. The land possesses a portion of every Jew.

For this is “a land which G-d… seeks out; the eyes of G-d are always upon it, from the beginning of the year until the end of the year.” And just as G-d seeks out the land, so do we.

A presentation of the Lubavitcher Rebbe's views on the Jewish people's connection with the Holy Land, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and the so-called "Land for Peace" issue.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 5768

Posted by Aryeh ben Avraham | | Posted On Tuesday, 11 September 2007 at 21:26

Please be advised! At precisely 12 o’clock noontime in Israel tomorrow, Weds, September 12, on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, Jews the world over will recite the Hatikkun Haklali , a Kabbalistic prayer formulated to rectify sexual sins. The main gathering will take place at Uman, at the gravesite of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, where 10,000 Jews have assembled to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. Another mass gathering will take place at the Kotel with a live satellite hook-up to Uman. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to rectify the damage we caused to the Covenant between G-d and the Jewish People, and thus open the channel of prayer and blessing that becomes clogged because of our sins. The Psalms to recite are: 16, 32, 41, 42, 59,77, 90, 105, 137, 150. You can obtain a FREE PDF Copy of the Hatikkun Haklali and Perek Shira, Courtesy of the Beams and Emuna Outreach, by simply clicking on the Links below. Free English Yalkut (Tikkun Klali/Perek Shira) download here. Free Hebrew Yalkut (Tikkun Klali/Perek Shira) download here. May G-d answer our prayers and inscribe everyone in the Book of Life for a healthy, happy, and prosperous 5768 year. Amen.
